MoKatha column in Odia has been coming since the last three years regulalry !

This column talks of the metamorphosis libraries have gone through and agony of it going digital for almost no-foot-prints in library. But, God knows if there are many really assessing on Internet. Is it true people have reduced thirst for knowledge or they want to read what only matters for the purpose. It's challenge to bring library digital or physical back to users.

An excellent write up! Sir, you have not only unfolded the great importance of library in imparting knowledge and wisdom to common masses but also urged the role of library professionals in establishing lively interactions with readers. You have taken readers to the concept of library marching from Bhagabat Tungi to libraries of this generation. I sincerely appreciate this valuable piece of work which is very informative and useful.

Best regards

don't read textbooks anymore and they don't need library for love too. Even young teachers don't visit library. I tell my students that " your best teacher is not me but Google guru " and they agree to it. There are several reasons for this deadly uturn : learning environment, examination system, job interviews, unbridled freedom, and western model of learning. A couple of years back I found a brilliant Bengali student reading 'meaning book' and I reprimanded him for this. He gave me a Marxist explanation 😄: " I don't know professor. But this low cost book helps me to understand the original text ". And I was awestruck with his Marxist logic. There are many such examples of why their Love is no more the Libray 😄! They are all Abolkaras now. 😄
