Rich take annual sojourn away of maddening crowd for solitude in hills and sea shores that levels uneven minds for a while so that next they can jump into the same with virulence and vigour. But COVID-19 is differently illusive one; it's neither a silent nor a jazz one, but an undefined thing that nobody knew before. How to handle the asymptotic evil is the headache and debashbha (the court of Gods) is buzzed with unspoken words asking each distancing from other to remain in solitude, away of known while living with unknown- the virus that forces each to retreat to quarantine ... the ekanta basha . The column takes on the issue with references drawn from Mahabharata to the present days !

Every one is Quarantined now. If not physically surely at Mental level.
Loneliness and Punishment apart, the fear and apprehension ( be it handling vegetables, grocery or door lock) arising out of various advisories have made life miserable.
The most excited portion for me was separating newly wed couple and saying good bye to Pan. I am a serious Pan Bhakt. After listening to sermons day in and day out, I am scared.
Another interesting episode of Duryodhan hiding in Sarovar is interesting. Helpless Bhim was finally prompted by Srikrishna to attack at his thighs. So here also, not withstanding all the misdeeds of China as the originator of Virous, we have every right to ask God, why we are made to suffer in the hands of a Virus.
To conclude I am fond of the word " Ekaant Baasa".
