||| MoKatha: Paschima Chhattua |||

MoKatha on 2nd June 2020 on www.nirvaynews.com

What can India to do for its burgeoning upward looking population ?
Particularly when pandemic COVID-19 has made people to return to
the roots what can large unskilled labour do other than farming? But
where is farming now ? All is lost in free rations and  globalisations.
The column takes up the scene through the my village characters to tell
how wise the village folk Chabisha is to go farming and enterprising but
consciously kept the factory small so there can be thousands of small
agro entrepreneurs around to address the poverty in a way keeping
village folks rooted to soil and keeping them aloof from upheavals in
drudgery of globalisation  that's a curse to India for myths around. True,
Indians must go for deshi chhatua (grain powders) in their breakfast instead
of cornflakes etc etc imported from abroad
Let Pashimaa-Chhatuaa brand triumph !

True.
Like Paschima Chhatua, many small Industries have vanished. Chabisha may have left or his grandson Dilu may not be interested to reopen the Chhatua factory. But odisha is few of the Indian states to have maximum number of abandoned factories. Dilapidated Rasulgarh Industrial State is testimony to that.
For Atma Nirbhar Bharat, it will be challenging times for our No 1 chief minister to create a cadre of small entrepreneurs in Odisha. It is a tough call but right time to agressively pursue it. Emotional exuberance or appealing speeches will not do. Hard planning is required.
The introductory paragraph is really touchy. I wish you could have built upon this issue of one man ness in urban places. No body knows nor any body is interested. I don't know my neighbour closely as required to develop a relationship for last 30 years . In all cities the same situation. Rightly also you have mentioned in a sentence the apnapan or relationship starts from give and take. In villages that culture is there. Complex/ Ego/ difference in economic status/ heterogenous professions may be few of the reasons for leading secluded life in cities. But quality of life is vastly compromised by this culture.
Thanks for sharing
