Nice one in the context of New Education Policy. Britishers left but English stayed and became deep rooted. The perception about English as the elite's language helped in commercialisation of the language there by resulting in mushrooming of English medium schools. Whether English has tampered with our value system or not will continue to be debated in the context of world being a global village. If policy makers or administrators in different fields emphasise on non- English as the medium of communication in offices may be English will distanced to some extent. For many , Knowing English is a status symbol and I sometimes wonder why people resort to English when entire audience can understand local language.
Let us hope how the present establishment breaks the strong hold of English.
For many,English will continue to remain as the official language .
Thanks for sharing
Have a nice day
