Find the root of Odisha very deep from pre-dravidian times ... amazing way Pundit Kruspashindhu Mishra has put it. Seems this is a basic work on Odisha History. I got it during my the last visit to Odisha in June '13.

If you (Odia knowing person) have not read it yet , I recommend this book strongly for a reading !

Wish there would be an English translation of this book for Odia-not knowing next-gen

ନିଜେ ହଜିଲେ କେବେ ପାଉଁ ?
ବ୍ରିଟିଶ ବୋଇଲେ ହେଉ ନିଅ |
କାହିଁକି କଷ୍ଟ ତୁମ ପାଅ |
ଅବା କଥାକୁ କିଁଆ କରୁଛ କଟାଳ |
ଆମେତ ନେଲୁଣି ସବୁ ଏବେ ତୁମେ ନିଅ ||
ମାତ୍ର ଏମିତି ଆମେ ହାତ ଟେକି ଦେବୁ |
ହାତ ପାତି ନେବ, ରାଜ୍ ଭେଦରେ ଘାରିବୁ ||
ପାଇବା ନପଇବା ଦୁହେଁ ହେବ ସମ |
ତୁମେହିଁ ବନିବ ନିଜ ନିଜ ଯମ ||
ବାନ୍-ମୁନ୍ ପଚାରନ୍ତି ମାଣ୍ଡେଲା ମୁଖ ଚାହିଁ |
ଗଣ ଭାଗବତ କଥା କହିବା ଗୋସାଇଁ ||
ମାଣ୍ଡେଲା କୁହନ୍ତି ହେ ବାନ୍-ମୁନ୍ ରାଜା |
ପିଜା-ଯୁଗ କଥା ଶୁଣି ମନେ ହେବ ବ୍ୟଥା ||
ବ୍ୟଥା ଦୂର କଥା କୁହହେ ବଖାଣି |

My Ganga Snan

Waist deep in Ganga. Awesome stretch of water in front of me. It's flowing. Flowing to future, carrying the past. The continuity of human kind is being told at its best. For so, the rivers are. And The Ganga is more to it. It's the Mother, descended from heaven to the hair-locks of Shiva, the God pervading the Truth and the Sublime creation; so true He's Satyam and Sundaram.

Again I looked at the flow. Strange feeling crept in. Is't spirituality ? Whatever it's, It's a feel untold but experienced. My Pranam to the Mother, the Nature and its grandeur, I conveyed reverently. A small piece of burnt log brushed to my chest. It's floating away doing its job; a being has got merged to Pancha-bhut , has taken rest to peace. But the Mother Ganga assures the continuity. The flow tingled my legs and I took a deep, next and next. Why it's to be three I don't know. Discovered the Three Deeps at my grand-father in my childhood. It makes so easy by inheritance.

Got up and reached the bank. Looked back to the Mother Ganga. What's there with her? Why does it hold me so strong? Tried to recollect the moments of deep. Did I hear a whisper from the Mother?

Did I hear of my Grand Mother whom I had never seen ?

(She died in Varanasi while on pilgrimage with my grand-father. He returned alone long before I was born.)

Had nice time with my M.Tech Students after they were formally charged with their hard own M.Tech in convocation held today.

RELIEVED

Just now Vakul pinged me of his arrival at Houston ....
