Late in going thru the episode of agri - mind( Krushi Manaska). A beautiful peace to read. But yesterday's TV news added more flavour while going thru the article today morning. Yesterday all channels were showing how thousands and thousands Dadan workers are home bound from Surat after announcement of Panchayat elections. Some of them were interviewed by TV reporters as to why in Covid times they are flooding the trains with big big trunks on their head. Answer is given in your Mo Katha. Answer was to participate in elections. True citizens to exercise their democratic rights. Funniest part was when some of them told next two months is the time for Bhoji Bhat. See How they have designed their life style. True Biradi akhi buji khira piela bhali why Odia mentality has been degenerated to such level. 10000 salary is so much for them. Rightly you have mentioned, when one travels thru Andhra and enters Odisha, one can feel the plight of farmers in Odisha. Irrigation is not the issue but the mindset. What about agricultural lands in coastal districts. True frequent occurrence of natural calamities may be the hindrance but everyone is now taking shelter on some pretext or other. Every thing we consume now is coming from other states Fish, egg, Chicken, vegetables all from Andhra, Potato, flower from WB, other cereals from outside states. As long as prices are affordable they are carrying on but how long. Do the remittances thru Phone Pay Or Paytm will help the family to sail thru? What about children? What messages we are leaving for them. Really Really sad and unfortunate showing no signs of respite in near future. Posco gone now Jindal will go. Same story repeated. We are true loyals.
